PROGRAM
TODDLER
We provide activities to challenge the toddlers in areas of physical, social, emotional, cognitive and creative growth.
At 18 months or earlier, if we deem them ready, our infants make their transition to the toddler program.
Our loving staff provides the toddlers with the nurturing care that is essential to their proper growth and development. Each day the toddlers are provided with countless opportunities to stimulate their development. We provide activities to challenge them in the areas of physical, social, emotional, cognitive and creative growth. The children spend time each day engaged in quality activities that are specially designed, through the Montessori Method, by our qualified staff. The children participate in art activities each week with a primary focus on the process.
The toddlers spend time outdoor each day and are presented with a variety of opportunities for developing gross motor skills.
Riding toys as well as a play structure are available, that provides a safe environment for climbing, balance and improving hand-eye coordination. They are lead in movement exercises including hopping, jumping and dancing to foster large muscle development and gross motor skills.
Our indoor activities include quality Montessori materials that provide opportunity for the development of the child’s fine motor skills.
Our teachers work with the toddlers to facilitate early independence by helping them learn how to do many tasks by themselves. These “practical life” exercises include learning how to scoop, grasp small objects, put away materials, clean up and water plants. The children participate in these activities with great enthusiasm because they find them intriguing and fun. These exercises help develop fine motor skills needed for independence, including manual dexterity and hand eye coordination. Teachers will provide you with a detailed report of your child’s activities each day.
